My first encounter with Yoga happened over thirty years ago, when, a 20-year old university student, I found myself in a challenging place in my life. Then, a humble gift of a book, handed to me lovingly by a compassionate friend saved me from severe depression and anxiety, and consequently changed my life. The book was a collection of basic Yoga postures. Until then, I could not have imagined that a small brochure could trigger such a profound change in my life. I was stunned by the transformations that emerged from a simple daily yoga practice. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted off my shoulders, and my depression gradually dissipated, making room for gratitude and peace in my heart.
Ever since, I have remained faithful to Yoga and meditation, studying and deepening my understanding of the philosophy and science behind it, and the innumerable boons associated with consistent practice. As an avid explorer, over the past three decades I received training in various styles and branches of Yoga like Agni, Bhakti, Kundalini, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Bikram.
I have completed a 300-hr Yoga Teacher Training and my qualifications allow me to safely and mindfully share my love for this healing art with other seekers. I consider it my dharma to guide my students on this path.
My style of teaching is best described as gentle guidance that arises from a place of deep respect and appreciation for my students. I aim to hold a nurturing, judgment-free practice space, where my students can comfortably build a connection with their mind/body and work toward their goal.
Currently, I offer instruction in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and various meditation styles. My training in physical therapy seems to be a good complement to our sessions, allowing my students to focus on safely restoring balance and healing specific areas of their mind/body.
